As many know from my previous blog posts, my husband and I started Paradigm Design Group in 2001, just 10 days before the world turned upside down and the sights, sounds, and horrors of 9/11 were forever etched in our minds and hearts. I still distinctly remember the fear we felt as the two of us embarked on this new journey, yet mourned along with the rest of the country and the world.

For many of us, the unsettling reminders of those days have now come rushing back as our support and prayers go out to the people of France as they process the reality of terrorist attacks close to home. My heart mourns deeply for this gentle and beautiful country that I love. However, I know that even though these events took place in their heartland, they too will rise up, be stronger, and move beyond this initial feeling of devastation to become even better than before. Even though the French don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, we can trust that as they emerge from this crisis, they will find it in their hearts to feel gratitude for the people they have in their lives and the blessings they share each and every day.

While our hearts are heavy this November, we too must find that place in our soul where we are appreciative of the beautiful day that greets us each morning and the loved ones that surround us each day.

I am thankful for so many blessings that I have and sometimes take for granted. While these include all of my family and friends, I am also thankful for the air I breathe, the warm sun that shines, and the inner peace that I have knowing that I am provided for in more ways than one.

I hope that you too remember those blessings and keep them dear this holiday season. I wish you a joyous day and remember its not about the turkey and stuffing and pumpkin pie, but the joy in our hearts as we know we are surrounded by those who love us unconditionally and would move mountains to ensure that we know it each and every day.
